Iranian Consul General in Kapan, Armenia, Meets with President of Tabriz Islamic Art University

Tabriz Islamic Art University Hosts Delegation from Kapan, Armenia

Tabriz, Iran – The Islamic Art University of Tabriz recently hosted a productive meeting with Mr. Morteza Abedin, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kapan Province, Armenia, and his accompanying delegation.

During the visit, Mr. Abedin extended his felicitations for Nowruz and the new year, expressing hope that the upcoming year (1404 in the Persian calendar) would be a prosperous one for Iran and witness a further flourishing of artistic and cultural activities between Iran and Armenia. He highlighted the successful cultural and artistic exhibitions held in Kapan Province last year, noting their groundbreaking nature as the first of their kind in the region. Mr. Abedin also shared plans for an expanded schedule of diverse cultural and artistic events in the new year. He specifically acknowledged the significant role of the Tabriz Islamic Art University in the successful execution of past cultural and artistic programs in Armenia, emphasizing the importance of increased collaboration with the university to expand cultural and artistic endeavors, including specialized handicraft exhibitions.

Following this, Mr. Alireza Nazif, Head of the Iran-Armenia Friendship Association and Head of the Armenia Desk at the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce, underscored Armenia's considerable potential, particularly Kapan Province, as a crucial gateway for Iran into Armenia for cultural, artistic, and commercial exchanges. He cited the permanent exhibition of handicrafts and cultural artifacts by the Tabriz Islamic Art University at the Blue Mosque in Yerevan as a pivotal point in strengthening cultural interactions between Iran and Armenia.

Dr. Mohammad Taghi Pirbabaei, President of the Tabriz Islamic Art University, reciprocated the New Year greetings and expressed his gratitude for the delegation's visit to Tabriz and the university. He highlighted the extensive artistic, scientific, and cultural capacities of the university's faculty and students, reiterating the university's full commitment to expanding cultural and artistic activities in Armenia and Kapan Province.
