Understanding TIAU educational programs for international applicants can help you make an informed decision for your academic journey. In this article we define programs, degrees and majors offered by TIAU. Here we offer you undergraduate and postgraduate programs each leading to various academic degrees. Obtaining degrees requires you to select the major or area of study. In order to master the major you selected you need to pass several courses. Moreover, TIAU offers non-degree programs leading to certificate.

1- Undergraduate Programs:
The first type of educational program a student, who has been graduated from high school, completes at TIAU is generally referred to as an undergraduate program. An undergraduate program offers general knowledge and will lead to academic degree such as bachelor degrees. An undergraduate or a first-level university student is a student working towards a B.Sc. An academic degree concentrates on a major that prepares you for research-oriented work.
Bachelor's Degree: Is an undergraduate program that usually takes 4 years to complete. Earning bachelor's degree requires you choose a major area of study. Bachelor's degree has different types. Bachelor's degree offered by TIAU is BSc.

The list below outlines required documents for undergraduate application to TIAU:
  • A satisfactory academic record: Applicants must obtain a record of transcripts from the institution they have attended. There is no minimum required GPA to secure admission to an undergraduate program. However, competitive applicants have the GPA of 3.00 or above.
  • A secondary school diploma or the equivalent certificate
Important notice: Please note that applicants should submit a certified copy of their School Leaving Certificate from an accredited high school/senior secondary school and certificate listing all the subjects they have taken and the grades they have achieved. Please note that the school reports should include all graded results obtained during your studies.
  • Curriculum vitae (CV): This includes your personal information as well as your educational background and work experience.
  • Cover letter: This letter demonstrates which program you are deciding to apply for.
  • Scanned copy of the main page of your passport in high quality in any graphic file format (PDF, JPEG, PNG)
  • Passport size photo
  • Language requirements:
English Language Requirements:
Evidence of English Proficiency on the TOEFL or IELTS tests. The minimum score for TOEFL PBT, TOEFL iBT and IELTS is 525, 69 and 5.5 respectively.
NOTE 1: the following individuals may be waived from providing a certificate of English language proficiency. However, in some cases, they might undergo a language placement test based on the decision of TIAU Office of International Admissions for international students.
  • Applicants from a native of English speaking countries
  • Applicants from countries where English is the official language.
  • Applicants who have been educated full-time in the medium of the English language throughout the two most recent years and who remain in full-time education conducted in the English language until the end of the school year in their home country (an official certificate must be submitted).
Note 2: Persian language is the medium of instruction at TIAU, therefore the applicants who receive final admission must attend and successfully pass courses in a Persian Language Center in a university introduced by TIAU.
 
2- Postgraduate Programs:
 
Prospective postgraduate students to TIAU might wish at broadening their academic knowledge and becoming professional leaders. So, we encourage all applicants to apply to TIAU. It refers to the time students spend pursuing another, higher degree after completing a bachelor’s degree. It means postgraduate program is usually undertaken after completing an undergraduate degree. Postgraduate program needs doing independent research and present a thesis as a requirement for graduation. It leads to master's and doctoral degrees.
 
Master's Degree: Is a postgraduate program that usually takes 2.5 years to complete. Frequently, the degree follows after individuals complete a bachelor’s degree program. Generally, a master's degree program may help in the development of key skills like: project management, data analysis, critical thinking and problem solving. Master’s degree offered by TIAU is MSc.
Doctoral Degree: Doctoral degrees are considered terminal degrees. PhD degrees or research doctorates are designed to prepare individuals for research careers and teach them how to discover new knowledge within their academic discipline.

The list below outlines required documents for graduate application to TIAU:
 
  • A satisfactory academic record: Applicants must obtain a record of transcripts from the institution they have attended. There is no minimum required GPA to secure admission to a graduate program. However, competitive applicants have the GPA of 3.00 or above.
  • Graduation Degrees and Certificates:
  •  a)    B.Sc. and secondary school or equivalent certificates for the applicants of M.Sc. degree.
  •   b)    M.Sc. and B.Sc. or equivalent certificates for the applicants of Ph.D. degree.
  • Curriculum vitae (CV): This includes your personal information as well as your education background and work experience.
  • Cover letter: This letter demonstrates which program you are deciding to apply for.
  • Two letters of Recommendation.
  •  Scanned copy of the main page of your passport in high quality in any graphic format (PDF, JPEG, and PNG)
  •  Passport-size photo
  •  Language requirements: Evidence of English Proficiency on the TOEFL or IELTS tests. The minimum score for TOEFL PBT, TOEFL iBT and IELTS is 525, 69 and 5.5 respectively.
  • Note 1: Applicants who have failed to meet minimum language requirements are allowed to apply as well. In case they are admitted to TIAU, they will undergo a language placement test at their arrival for assessment of their ability of speaking and reading English and Persian. Then, they should participate in language courses based on their level of performance on this test. They will also be given the chance of presenting their TOEFL or IELTS test scores during one-year period. 
  • Note 2: Applicants from Persian (Farsi) Speaking countries (they shall both speak and write in Persian) who have applied for graduate degree-based programs may be exempted, based on the decision of the department, from submitting any certificates regarding their English Language Proficiency. Nevertheless, they are required to hand in their English language certificate which meets TIAU’s minimal language proficiency requirements, within one year from commencing their studies at TIAU.
  • Note 3: Persian language is the medium of instruction at TIAU, therefore the applicants who receive final admission must attend and successfully pass courses in a Persian Language Center in a university introduced by TIAU.
 
3- Non-Degree Programs: non degree programs are designed to sharpen and develop in-demand and applied professional skills and to advance academic and career development. They are for personal development and enrichment. After completion of the program the participants will be awarded a certificate and no degree is obtained.
